Eyeing a trip to India? Timing is everything. Especially in a place where weather naturally swings between harsh and calm. If you want to visit India, it's best to get the seasons right.

So, when should you go?

This is a guide to help you make the most of India in all of its seasons.

1.Winter (December to February):

This is India at its best. Seriously. The heat backs off, the skies clear up, and suddenly, exploring feels like a joy instead of a chore. You can visit popular places, like Delhi, Agra (get to the Taj Mahal early unless crowds are your thing), Jaipur, Goa, Kerala, and even some Himalayan towns like: Shimla, Manali, and so many more.

2. Summer (March to May):

This is another season you should take note of. During these months, much of India gets scorching hot, making it tough to step outside. But there is a savior. The hills. You can head straight to hilly spots like Shimla, Nainital, or Ooty, where the air is cool and the scenery stays lush and green.

If you still long to visit the beaches, Goa, Kerala, and the Andamans are good options, but expect the sun to be powerful. Rajasthan during this time is more extreme, visit only if you are willing to stay heavily hydrated.

Don't forget sunscreen, use your shades, see the sights before midday, and cool down in the shade until the heat dies down.

You have to visit during Holi! Celebrated during the summer, it's a colorful festival with playful paint fights. Cities like Jaipur and Mathura do Holi like no other.

3.Monsoon (June to September):

Monsoon season in India is a whole mood. Some people love it, because of its skies, and fresh rain smell, and the way everything turns a rich green. Others, don't like the idea of getting drenched. But, if it's what you love, Kerala's backwaters are green, luscious, and gorgeous in the rain.

4. Holiday Season (October/November):

Want to experience a true Indian holiday season? These months are usually when Diwali is celebrated.

It is a time when the country lights up with fireworks, sweets, and celebrations. You can visit Rajasthan, Varanasi, or Delhi. You will love your experience and be able to celebrate comfortably anywhere.

Knowing the best seasons is important, especially since India's weather likes to keep things interesting. October to February will have you travelling comfortably. If you are there in summer, drink plenty of water and take it slow.

If you want to experience a festival or don’t mind a little sun or rain. Just pack for everything, your raincoat, shades, boots, comfortable clothing. As always, coming prepared leads to epic trips.
